In custody since Friday, Ousmane Sonko was placed in custody by the Dean of Judges Maham Diallo.

The latter interviewed him for 4 hours, before deciding to send him to prison.

It is true that the charges brought by the public prosecutor against the opponent: calls for insurrection, attack on state security, conspiracy against state authority, association of criminals with a view to committing acts of terrorism, theft, etc. are particularly heavy.

The file presented to justify them, solid.

Sonko was faced with his own declarations and writings which depressed him.

His arrogance, his violence and his immaturity have ruined him.

The triggering act: the snatching of a mobile phone belonging to a policeman, is unspeakable stupidity. Why did you commit such a childish and extremely serious act?

Why didn’t you ask one of his many bodyguards or followers to do it?

No, Sonko thought he was untouchable: He made a mistake and will find himself in the citadel of silence where many members of terrorist groups languish: “special force”, “commando” etc. who shone by their bloody acts committed in 2021 and 2023.

Senegalese justice took its time and tied up a massive file, so to speak, to be able to carry the blow against an opponent, become an outlaw guru.

His “talibés”, as immature as him, believed him to be above the law.

They got their finger in the eye and suddenly wake up in the real world, that of republican law, in an authentic democracy.

Under warrant, Sonko will meditate on his mistakes and his boundless arrogance.

A myth collapsed today in Senegal, that of a violent and thoughtless man who imagined he could gain power through terror, both physical and media lynching.

His appeals to the people have gone unheeded, because small groups of brainwashed young people are not the “people”. They are vandals who cannot defeat the Republic.

Sonko was arrested whenever necessary and prevented from acting.

Recently, he was stuck at home for 54 days.

His hanging tongue could not change the reality on the ground.

Prison time has come for him, because force will always remain with the law, in Senegal, a country of democracy, a secular republic, a haven of peace and brotherhood.
